Dave Wolk Stadium

Designed to pay tribute to the region’s rich railroad history, Dave Wolk Stadium’s architecture mimics that of the historic railroad depots in the area.

The multi-use, artificial turf facility with 1,600 seats and a capacity of 5,000 is one of the finest in New England. Home to field hockey, football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s soccer, Dave Wolk Stadium has hosted thousands of Castleton sporting events, including conference championships in field hockey, football, women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s lacrosse as well as an ECAC New England Tournament game in men’s soccer.

On September 1, 2018, the stadium, formerly known as Spartan Stadium, was renamed Dave Wolk Stadium in recognition of former Castleton University President Dave Wolk, to commemorate his dedication to Castleton Athletics and his role in making the stadium complex a reality.

In addition to being the home to Castleton football, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s lacrosse; Dave Wolk Stadium was also designed to be used by others in the state and beyond. To date, the facility has hosted Vermont High School State Championships in field hockey, football, soccer, and lacrosse as well as countless other all-star events such as the Vermont/New Hampshire Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl.
