Designed to pay tribute to the region’s rich railroad history, Spartan Stadium’s architecture mimics that of the historic railroad depots in the area. The multi-use, artificial turf facility opened for the fall of 2009 and is one of the finest in New England. In just three years, Spartan Stadium has hosted nearly 200 Castleton sporting events, including conference championships in men’s and women’s lacrosse and women’s soccer as well as an ECAC New England Tournament game in men’s soccer.
In addition to being the home to Castleton football, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s lacrosse; Spartan Stadium was also designed to be used by others in the state and beyond. To date the facility has hosted Vermont High School State Championships in field hockey, football, soccer, lacrosse.
