Benham Tabbed NAC Player of the Week

WATERVILLE, Maine – Coming off a strong weekend at the plate, Dillon Benham of the Castleton baseball team has been named North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Benham helped lead Castleton to a 14-4 victory over Bard on Saturday with two hits, including a triple, three RBI, and a season-high three runs scored. The junior sparked his squad out of the two-hole with an RBI triple in the first inning to give the Spartans a lead they never lost en route to the convincing triumph. He later added a hard-hit single up the middle to drive in two more insurance runs down the stretch.

In 11 games thus far, Benham is batting .300 with 12 hits, four doubles, seven runs scored, and a team-leading 10 RBI. In 40 at-bats, Benham has posted a .341 on-base percentage to go with a .450 slugging percentage.

This is the first honor for Benham this season and the second straight week Castleton has landed a NAC Player of the Week. To view the full release, click here.
