CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University football team is nearing the end of the first week of preseason camp, and fans of the Spartans will soon have the opportunity to secure season and single game tickets for the five home games at Spartan Stadium during the 2017 campaign.
Season tickets and tailgating passes for the 2017 season will go on sale online beginning Tuesday, Aug. 22, through this website: www.castletonsports.com/buy-tickets. Starting Tuesday, Aug. 29, single game tickets will be available for purchase through the same website.
For the first time since the 2012 season, Castleton will play home games under the lights at Spartan Stadium, starting with the home opener against Fitchburg State Saturday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. That will also be the kickoff time for the Homecoming game against Norwich, the battle for the Maple Sap Bucket Trophy, on Sept. 16 and the ECFC contest against league newcomer Dean College on Oct. 21.
The first conference home game of the year pits the Spartans against Mount Ida Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. The final home contest of the season will see Castleton take on Gallaudet Nov. 4, starting at 12 noon.
A reminder to families of football players, each player is provided two complimentary tickets per game, and they may be picked up two hours prior to kickoff at the stadium entrance. If parents or family would like more seats in close proximity to the complimentary tickets, they have to purchase them at the stadium entrance on the day of the game.
Castleton students are entitled to one free ticket with a valid student ID. Free student tickets can be picked up at the Castleton Store from Monday through Friday during the week leading up to each home game. If students wait until the day of the game, they will have to pay for their tickets at the stadium box office.
