CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University football coaching staff, led by head coach Tony Volpone, invites high school football players from the graduating classes of 2019 and 2020 (juniors and seniors entering fall 2018) to the Castleton Football Prospect Day, to take place Saturday, June 9, on the Castleton University campus.
Prospects and their parents will be asked to arrive by 10 a.m. for the start of the program, which is scheduled to take place in the Jeffords Center Auditorium (233 South Street, Castleton, Vt., 05735). Coach Volpone will introduce himself, his staff, and any current players in attendance, followed by presentations on the football program's academic and community service philosophies as well as from the Spartan strength and conditioning staff.
The day's activities will also include tours of the academic buildings, residence halls, and athletic facilities. All attendees will interact with coaches and players by having lunch together at the Huden Dining Hall as well as taking part in a player Q&A panel.
A member of the Castleton University admissions staff will be on campus to lead a Q&A session with prospects and their parents, and then prospects will meet with their respective coordinators for a chalk talk while the parents meet with Coach Volpone. The entire itinerary should conclude by 3 p.m.
Those prospects interested in attending should give at least three to four days notice. All interested attendees will receive an e-mail 24-48 hours before the visit explaining specific times and locations.
For more information or to express interest in attending, contact Michael Phelan, assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (518) 637-1547.
