GRANBY, Mass. – The Spartans earned a victory their final effort of the spring season, winning the 2014 Blazers Spring Invitational behind the performance of freshman Zach Temple.
Temple led the Castleton contingent with an even-par 72 after shooting a one-under-par 35 on the front nine and then and was one-over on the back nine with a 37 to post his round of 72. He won the event by two strokes.
As a team The Spartans finished with team score of 307 to win by two strokes over Rhode Island College. Elms came in third in a score of 314 along with UMass-Dartmouth. Concordia College (N.Y.) rounded out the top-five with a 320.
