NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Castleton men's hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision on the road at nationally 13th-ranked Norwich on Friday night at Kreitzberg Arena.

The Spartans drop to 3-13-4 (1-10-2 NEHC) while the Cadets improve to 12-4-3 (8-4-1 NEHC). The two teams will complete the home-and-home series on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Spartan Arena. Norwich bumped its unbeaten streak to eight games following the victory.

Sophomore Glenn Wiswell and freshman Andrew Barber scored the goals for the Spartans. Senior goalie Wyatt Pickrell made 31 saves while Tom Aubrun turned aside 14 shots for the hosts.

The Cadets took a 2-0 edge into the intermission with tallies from Taeron Lewis and Sam DiBitetto.

Castleton worked itself back into the game thanks to a pair of power play goals. Wiswell scored on a rebound with assists from Nick Gravina and Troy Taylor. Barber drove a wrist shot home on the feed from Wiswell for the second power play. The pair of tallies were sandwiched around a Cadet score by Brett Ouderkirk 1:25 after Wiswell's goal cut the deficit to one.

Norwich scored its final insurance goal at the 2:18 mark of the third period when Noah Williams rifled a shot over Pickrell's shoulder.
