Northfield, Vt. – The Castleton men's lacrosse team ran its win streak to eight games with a 16-9 non-conference victory over Norwich on Monday afternoon.
With the victory the Spartans concluded their regular seasons with a 13-3 record, matching the program record for victories in a season. The Cadets, meanwhile, saw a 12-game unbeaten streak come to a close as they fell to 12-4.
Sophomore Zach Davidson etched his name in the Castleton record books once again with his six-goal and three-assist performance. The nine points gave him 94 this year, breaking the single-season program record of 87 he set last year. Spencer Hunt added three goals and three assists, while Ken Bourneuf added two goals in the contest.
Ian Mendoza, Ian Thomas and Connor Roberts all totaled three goals for the Cadets, while Arron Canarelli, Ryan McCarthy and Timothy Seibert all added a goal apiece.

The Spartans opened the second frame with five-straight goals, the final from Alex Green with 3:08 left, to take the 7-2 lead before the Cadets could counter. Thomas scored with 2:53 to play in the half before Hunt added one and Roberts scored again for Norwich to set the score at 8-4 at the break.
Castleton and Norwich traded a pair of goals each through the first 11 minutes of the third quarter, but Will Stuhler and Davidson scored 21 seconds apart at 1:41 and 1:20 to hold the 12-6 advantage going into the fourth. The Spartans saw their lead go as high as 16-7 before finishing with the 16-9 victory
