CASTLETON, Vt. – Castleton University head coach John O'Connor has announced that the Spartan men's soccer program will host a one-day Summer ID Clinic Sunday, July 22, in Spartan Stadium.
Camp registration is available via mail-in form, and the clinic is limited to 30 field players and four goalkeepers for quality purposes, so early registration is encouraged. Tuition is $125 per player with a $50 "early bird" discount offered for all those who sign up prior to Sunday, July 1.
Conducted by the Castleton University men's soccer coaching staff, the Spartan Soccer Summer ID Clinic is an excellent opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors and incoming Castleton freshmen to be evaluated and experience the mental and physical demands of college soccer. The on-field sessions are designed to replicate the daily training environment of current Spartan student-athletes and include training exercises, small-sided and 11v11 games.
Additionally, off-field activities between the morning and afternoon sessions will help prepare participants for the college recruiting and admissions processes. A campus tour and Q&A session with present Spartan players will educate participants about the academic programs, facilities and student body of Castleton University. The coaching staff will also steer a comprehensive discussion of the recruitment process, clarify common college misconceptions, and prepare campers for the big decision that lies ahead.
For additional information about the men's soccer camp, email Coach O'Connor at firstname.lastname@example.org. The registration form can be found above and on the Castleton athletics camps website (www.castletonsports.com/recreation/camps/index), along with information about other Spartan summer camps for baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, and wrestling.
