Mens Cross Country Hits the Road for Vermont State Meet

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton men's cross-country team returns to action on Friday afternoon in the Vermont State Meet hosted by St. Michael's College.

The Spartans have recorded a pair of second place finishes along with an 11th-place in the UMASS-Dartmouth Invitational, which consisted of 33 different programs.

Grandon Smith has recorded two-straight first place finishes before an impressive 34th place finish at UMass-Dartmouth out of 242 runners.

Jonah Lavigne notched a top five finish at the Castleton Invitational along with a top ten at the opening race of the season at the Southern Vermont Invitational. Jared Wheeler and Patrick Gilligan have also taken top ten finishes this season for the Spartans.

Castleton took fifth place in last year's Vermont State Meet. The Spartans will hit the course at 4:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
