Smith Garners NAC Runner of the Week Honors

WATERVILLE, Maine – After claiming the eight-kilometer Vermont State Meet individual title last Saturday, Grandon Smith of the Castleton men's cross country team has been named North Atlantic Conference Runner of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Smith's first-place finish was his third individual crown this season as he paced the field of 60 runners to the finish line with a time of 26:42.0, which was over 16 seconds faster than second-place finisher from nationally-ranked host Middlebury. Smith's top spot helped lead the Spartans to a fourth-place finish out of six squads at the meet.

This is the third time Smith has earned NAC Runner of the Week honors this season. To view the full conference weekly awards release, click here.
