CASTLETON, Vt. – Following a season in which she ranked among the best in the nation, Castleton women's hockey goaltender Jess Cameron has been named to the D3hockey.com Women's East Region First Team.
Cameron, a CCM Second Team All-American, was the first goaltender in NCAA Division III history to hold a save percentage of .945 or higher while making 800 or more saves in a single season. She posted one of the best seasons for any goaltender in Castleton history, as she set school records in wins (15), save percentage (.947) and winning percentage (.640). The senior also cemented herself as the all-time leader in career save percentage (.936) and career winning percentage (.544). Cameron finished the season fifth in the nation in save percentage while facing the second-most shots among all Division III goaltenders. She was named the NEHC Goaltender of the Year and NEHC First Team All-Conference for her performance, along with being named to the D3hockey.com Team of the Week on two separate occasions. Cameron also received All-Academic recognition from the NEHC.
Plattsburgh St.'s Camille Leonard earned Second Team honors from D3hockey.com, while Katherine Chester of Connecticut College was the Third Team goaltender. To view the full D3hockey.com All-Region teams, click here.
