GLOUCESTER, Mass. - Castleton women's ice hockey is proud to recognize senior Aimee Briand and sophomore Courtney Gauthier, who have both been named American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholars.
All varsity ice hockey players who attained a 3.6 GPA each semester and participated in 40 percent of their school's games in the 2017-18 season were recognized as "Krampade All-American Scholars." In its second year of the All-American Scholars release, a total of 1,310 male and female student-athletes were recognized across all three NCAA divisions.
Castleton is coming off a third-place finish in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) in 2017-18 with a regular season record of 8-5-1, including a 5-2 quarterfinal victory over Southern Maine.
Under new head coach Mike Venezia, the Spartans will open their 2018-19 season at home on Oct. 26 and 27 for a pair of contests against Morrisville State, one of Venezia's former teams. The rest of the Castleton schedule will be announced soon.
