Women’s Nordic Ski Team Moves Up at Divisional Championships

BENNINGTON, Vt. – Thanks to three top-15 finishes, the Castleton University women's Nordic ski team moved up into third place in the final standings Sunday morning at the ECSC Mansfield Divisional Championships at Prospect Mountain.

Megan Greene once again led the Spartans, finishing in fifth place in the five-kilometer classic event with a time of 18:53. Emily Cromie posted a time of 20:14 to finish in ninth place, while Adrienne Toof crossed the finish line in 13th place with a mark of 21:09.

Hahnah Saroff posted a mark of 23:44 to finish in 25th place, and Carley Patch finished in 28th place with a time of 24:40.

Ana Witkowski of Clarkson won the event in 17:23, seven seconds in front of teammate Sarah Duclos. Clarkson finished first as a team with 21 points, followed by Vermont with 32 points, the Spartans with 64 points, and Cornell with 70 points.

The Castleton women's Nordic ski team will head to the Ethan Allen Biathlon Center in Jericho, Vt., next weekend, Feb. 18-19, for the ECSC Regional Championships as the Spartans attempt to qualify for the USCSA National Championships for the first time as a team.
