Rugby Falls on the Road at Molloy

SEAFORD, N.Y. – The Castleton women's rugby team was defeated by Molloy College on Sunday on the road, 109-7.

Kailyn Duff converted the lone try for the Spartans and followed it up with a successful conversion to account for the Castleton scoring.

Savanah Graves led the defensive effort with eight tackles. Julia May also notched five tackles on the afternoon.

Molloy went 4-for-5 on conversion attempts in the first quarter to take a 33-0 advantage. Then, they scored four tries in each of the final three quarters to set a program scoring record.

Caroline Nickels led Molloy individually with seven tries; while Olivia Sturiano was 13-for-17 on conversion attempts and Siobhan Coady scored four tries and has five tackles 

Castleton will return to action on Oct. 12 on the road at Colby-Sawyer.
