Women’s Rugby Stumbles at Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. –The Castleton University women's rugby team dropped a road match to Molloy on Saturday as the Molloy took all three 20-minute contests.

Separated into three 20-minute 10 v. 10 games, Molloy took the sweep with 22-5, 33-0, and 26-5 triumphs. 

Both squads sit at 1-2 after the contest. Molloy earned its first win of the season and after opening the season with a win, Castleton has lost two straight matches.

For the Spartans, Mikaela Phillips and Saidi St. Andrews registered the tries on the day. On the defensive side, Julia May led the way with 17 recorded tackles on the afternoon. 

For Molloy, six different players registered at least one try on the afternoon. Keisha Hoskins and Kaitlyn Snyder each had three tries to lead the offensive effort. 

Castleton returns to action on Saturday, September 21 as it will take on Bowdoin at New England College.
