Costello Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Castleton, Vt. – Sophomore forward Mallory Costello was recently named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Capital One Academic All-District I Women's Soccer Team for her performance on the field and in the classroom.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their excellence on the field and in the classroom. The District Teams are divided into eight geographic locations and further delineated by Division I, II & III. Costello was one of two NAC athletes to be named to the 12-person team, along with Kayla Tuttle of Maine Farmington As an all-district selection, Costello now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this fall.

Costello has been Castleton's top scorer this year while leading the team to an 11-7-1 record, including a 7-1-1 mark within the NAC. She has scored 16 goals this year and also leads the team with eight assists for a team-high 40 points. Off the field Costello is a Nursing major with a 3.87 GPA.

She is the first women's soccer player to earn Academic All-District honors since Courtney Chadburn earn Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors in 2011.
