Nichols Named NAC Rookie of the Week

WATERVILLE, Maine – For the second time in her career, freshman Rylee Nichols of the Castleton women's soccer team has been named North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Nichols had another strong week against tough opponents with two more goals to give her a team-leading seven tallies on the season. With her team trailing 2-0 at Plymouth State, Nichols provided a spark with a goal early in the second half to cut the deficit to one. She powered another deep drive from well outside the box that clanged off the crossbar as she led the team with five total shots and two on goal in the match. Nichols followed that up with a goal in the ninth minute against Colby-Sawyer, staking her team to an early lead over the first-place Chargers with her seventh goal in the last six games.
