CASTLETON, Vt. – Following a week in which Megan Nadler went unbeaten in both doubles and singles action for the Castleton women's tennis team, the freshman has been recognized as the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week.
Nadler started the week with straight-set wins, 6-1 and 6-0, in singles versus Lyndon State, before contributing to two of the team's three points with wins in both singles and doubles action against Johnson State. The freshman finished the week with a 5-0 win in No. 2 singles, making it 3-0 for the week and evening her season record to .500 at 6-6.
In doubles action, Nadler and Kayla Zsido were just as impressive. The pairing combined for consecutive 8-0 shutout wins to start the week versus Lyndon State and Johnson State, before taking a tight 9-7 against Sage on Sunday. Overall for the week, Nadler contributed to six points for the Spartans, going 3-0 in both singles and doubles.
Nadler and the Spartans will return to action on Saturday for the NEAC East Championship Tournament, when they will face top-seeded Colby-Sawyer at 10 a.m.
