Women's Tennis Rolls Past Green Mountain

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University women's tennis team defeated the Green Mountain College Eagles 9-0 on Tuesday at the Castleton Courts. Castleton improves to 4-2 on the year and 1-0 in the conference, while the Eagles are 1-4 and 0-1.

Alexis Curley who had the most dominant victory on the day cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win against her opponent. At the sixth flight, Lauren Reck was nearly as efficient, notching a 6-1, 6-0 finish. 

In first and second singles, Ciara Bannister and Megan Nadler rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-2 result, respectively.

During doubles play, Castleton began strong and held on throughout. Kirsten Kruk and Bannister earned an 8-2 victory. Meanwhile, the second and third teams collected 8-1 wins each.

Women's tennis returns to play at 4 p.m. on Wednesday when they travel to face Colby Sawyer College.
