Castleton Falls; Snaps Two-Match Winning Streak

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Castleton University women's tennis team fell 9-0 to the five-time defending conference champion Colby-Sawyer College Chargers on Wednesday evening. Castleton is now 4-3 and 1-1 in the NAC, while Colby-Sawyer is 5-0 and 3-0 in league play.

Kirsten Kruk turned in the strongest performance for the Spartans. After her opponent earned a 6-0 first set, Kruk battled tough, before falling 6-3 in the second stanza.

Elsewhere, Alexis Curley was able to grab a pair of games, while Ciara Bannister, Megan Nadler and Emily Miller held one game each.

In doubles play, the team of Bannister and Kruk took three games to lead the Spartans.

Castleton returns to action at 1 p.m. on Sunday as it travels to Sage College.
