Tom Blake rejoined the Castleton Athletic Communications staff in September 2018 as the Director of Athletic Communications and Marketing.
He spent the 2017-18 academic year as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he was the primary contact for women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, women's basketball, women's track and baseball.
Blake is familiar with the Spartan community, spending two years at Castleton as a Graduate Assistant in Athletic Communications from August 2015 to May 2017. During his time with the Spartans, he was the primary contact for 17 sports and helped oversee the transition between Directors of Athletic Communications during the fall of 2016.
Before Castleton, Blake interned with the Thomas College Sports Information department, as well as worked part time with the University of Maine at Augusta as a Sports Information Assistant.
During the summer of 2016, he interned with the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League within the public relations department, covering major CCBL events such as the All-Star Game and Fenway Park Workout Day. Blake produced the most-read feature stories of all of the Cape League interns during his tenure and was the driving force in getting the @Official_CCBL Twitter handle verified.
He graduated from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine, with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management in May 2015. Blake was a four-year member of the Thomas baseball team, where he earned North Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team honors in 2014 and 2015. Blake earned his master’s degree in Athletic Leadership from Castleton in May 2017. A native of Coventry, Vt., he currently resides in Rutland with his wife, Marissa.
