FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- The Castleton University field hockey team returned to action on Saturday afternoon as it took on Framingham State in a Little East Conference matchup. Led by Freshman forward Kaitlin Bardellini and junior midfielder Allison Lowell, the Spartans took care of business and came out with a 6-0 shutout win. With the win today, the Spartans improve to 3-3 (2-0 LEC) while the Rams fall to 2-4 (1-1 LEC).

The team did not let up as Bardellini netted her second goal of the game just over a minute into the third quarter for the Spartans. A trend began as Lowell once again scored to give the Spartans a commanding 4-0 lead after three quarters of play.
Olivia Trevisani would join the action in the fourth quarter as she scored her first goal of the season.
Bardellini would connect on a Gabriella Hunt assist and score her third goal of the game to complete her hat trick in the fourth. With her three goals, Bardellini now has six goals and 14 points on the season.
