Waterville, Maine - In their North Atlantic Conference season opener, the Castleton Spartans men's tennis team fell in a 5-4 heartbreaker to Thomas College on Saturday.
The Spartans dropped two of three doubles matches, giving Thomas an early 2-1 lead. Corey Kimball and Mike Divis earned an 8-4 win at third doubles.
In singles, Castleton took the fourth, fifth, and sixth singles flights as Jeremy Reppin, Divis, and Brian O'Neill each defeated their opponent. The Spartans were unable to scrape across a fifth point from their top three singles flights and fell to the Terriers 5-4.
Castleton falls to 2-4, 0-1 in the NAC and will take to the court again Sunday, April 1 against Southern Maine.
