Spartans Earn Sweep of Johnson State

Johnsonville, Vt. - Castleton earned an important conference sweep of Johnson State, beating the Badgers 9-0 on Saturday, Apr. 6.

The Spartans started the day with a sweep of doubles, dropping only two games in all three flights combined. Adam McCaffery and Mike Glasser combined to win 8-2 at first doubles, while Will Levine and Zac Conlogue paired at the second flight to win 8-0. Corey Kimball and Mike Divis also shutout their opponents at third doubles.

In singles play, four Spartans earned wins without dropping a game. Levine, Divis, Conlogue, and Kimball each won their matches 6-0, 6-0 at first, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles respectively. Glasser earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles while McCaffery notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory at third singles.

Castleton improves to 6-2 overall, with a 5-1 record against North Atlantic Conference opponents. They will take on Green Mountain College at Grand Slam Tennis Complex in Rutland on Sunday, Apr. 7.
