New London, N.H. - The second seed Castleton Spartans men's tennis team suffered a loss at the hands of third-seeded Thomas College in the North Atlantic Conference Semifinals on Saturday, Apr. 27, falling 5-4 to the Terriers.
Castleton took just one of three doubles matches, falling 8-0 at first doubles and 8-4 at the third doubles flight. Zac Conlogue and Will Levine earned a crucial win at second doubles, downing their opponents 8-6 to give the Spartans their first point of the day.
Conlogue was the Spartans only double winner of the day, taking his fourth singles match 6-1, 6-0. Fellow senior Corey Kimball won 6-0, 6-2 at fifth singles, and Adam McCaffery earned a point at third singles, notching a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
Castleton failed to earn a fifth point, surrendering points at the first, second, and sixth singles flights, and fell to the Terriers 5-4. The Spartans finish their season with a 10-5 overall mark. Thomas will continue on to the NAC championship to take on top-seeded Colby-Sawyer.
