PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Following a debut season in the Little East Conference that saw them reach the conference tournament, a pair of Castleton University women's lacrosse seniors were named First Team All-LEC Thursday.
Wood finished the season for the Spartans with the third-most draw controls in a single season in program history, as well as the sixth-most assists in a single season in program history. The senior 84 ranked third in the LEC, while her 28 assists were also good for third in the league. Wood capped her four years at Castleton with a career-year on both sides of the ball, racking up 49 total points—adding 21 goals to her 28 assists.
McKenna posted career-highs in a multitude of categories, including goals, points, ground balls and caused turnovers. The senior's 43 caused turnovers were fourth-most in a single season in program history and ranked second in the conference, while her 62 ground balls were fifth-most in a single season in program history and ranked second in the LEC. Her 33 goals ranked her fourth on the team, as did her 36 points.
The duo become the first recipients of All-Conference accolades from the Little East Conference in program history, and it marks the third time that McKenna has made an All-Conference team in her career. She earned back-to-back appearances on the All-North Atlantic Conference Second Team in 2017 and 2018.
