WORCESTER, Mass. – With another season on the horizon, the Castleton University wrestling program continues to cement itself as one of the top teams in the region as the New England Wrestling Association ranks it seventh overall in the 2018-19 Preseason Team Rankings while listing three Spartan individuals within the top-five of their respective weight classes.
The Spartans open the year ranked seventh overall after wrapping up last season ranked eighth by the NEWA. Castleton returns 24 members of last year's squad while brining in a large first-year class comprised of 24 wrestlers.
Jesse Webb is listed at No. 3 in the rankings in the 285-pound weight class, while Max Tempel sits at No. 4 in the 141-pound class. Cedrick Stephens rounds out the ranked Spartans as the fifth-ranked wrestler in the 197-pound class.

The Spartans open their season on November 2 and 3 with matches at the Ithaca College Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y.
