Rugby Closes Inaugural NCAA Season Saturday with Senior Day

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University women's rugby team finishes its inaugural season as an NCAA varsity program Saturday, Oct. 29, against the University of New England starting at 4 p.m. at Alumni Field.

Before the match, seven Spartans will be recognized as they participate in the final collegiate match of their careers: Shania Brown, Katie Campbell, Casey Comeau, Melissa Dimock, Jordan Hill, Allison L'Esperance, and Molly Smith.

The University of New England is 4-2 overall after losing to Norwich two weeks ago, 29-12. Andrea Call and Heather Baron scored one try apiece for the Nor'easters while Emma Foss successfully kicked one conversion.

This is a rematch of a contest played in Biddeford, Maine, on Sept. 30, won by the Nor'easters 91-0. Zoe Adams led UNE with five tries, with Kaitlin Drumheller and Caitlin Paredes adding two tries apiece for the Nor'easters.
