Spartans Sweep Bay Path to Move to 4-2

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton women's tennis team swept the board for the third time this season en route to a 9-0 win over Bay Path University this afternoon on homecoming night. 

The win moves the Spartans to 4-2 on the campaign, while the Wildcats of Bay Path fall to 0-2.

In doubles action, Kirsten Kruk and Emily Miller sparked the Spartans with an 8-2 win in first flight. Jennifer Blay and Alexis Curley followed with an 8-0 win, before Monika Plante and Erika Patterson earned the win by forfeit to push the Spartans to 3-0 going into singles.

Ciara Bannister bounced back in singles to lead the Spartans to a 6-0 victory in No. 1 singles this afternoon. Nadler, Kruk, Zsido, and Plante all followed with 6-0 wins in straight sets before Miller won sixth-flight singles by forfeit to give Castleton the 9-0 win.

Castleton has now won four of their first six games for the third-consecutive season. The Spartans will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Plattsburgh State to take on the Cardinals in a non-conference matchup starting at 1 p.m.
